Begins the ending of a beautiful journey… Last and final week of the 2nd coding period of Google Summer of Code ’21.

The weekly mentor mentee meeting didn’t take place this week because the mentors were busy with some chores. BUT, we’ll have a meeting next week instead, for the compensation! Probably the last one for MARS :(

I swear it started just a month ago :((

This week we had some good progress on MARS, it started with with the improvements in the scripts — better comments and neatness in the code, better naming conventions and updating the READMEs. The GIF updation will be performed after the next meeting, once the project is reviewed by the mentors.

Other than that — we had some great progress in the translations system. Yash and the mentors attended the biweekly Asia Pacific call and made some major advancements in the translations process. The draft for the translations guidelines is now merged in the CHAOSS community handbook and can be found here.

We also made a rough flowchart for the translations process. Received constructive feedback from the mentors and are working to improve it.

Didn’t see that coming, did ya? :)

That was pretty much for this week. It was a relaxed one, mainly focused on reviewing things and improving them.

Next week, we’ll be updating the metric release process in the community handbook, work on the flowchart for the translations guidelines and prepare the final report.
